MOON RIVER ESTATES — Labels
The task for this project was to create a winery brand and determine what their style, their voice, their message and their image would be. Once that was figured out, we were to create three wine labels that they would feature on their bottles.
This process was a bit longer, as we were starting from scratch. Initially, I decided on what I wanted to name the brand and what that brand was going to stand for. Then, I researched what was required on labels for alcoholic drinks in Canada. This would help me when it came to the design stage. Following that, I needed to decide on a colour scheme, and create a mood board to understand the look and feel of what was now called Moon River Estates. All of this finally led me to the design stage, where each decision was intentionally made.
When I see my labels on mockups of bottles I feel very proud of my creations. It isn't easy to create an overall brand and products that reflect it, especially in the two weeks we had been given for this assignment. I love the simplicity, the elegance, and the richness in colour. The typeface adds character, and the moon with gold trimming is the perfect finishing touch to provide 'pop' and veer away from the typical boxed aesthetic.
I hope you enjoy this creation too!

The Process In Images:
Below you can see a glimpse into the brand creation and research that went into Moon River Estates.
And these were my final label designs laid flat, with markups.
As a note: If they were actually being printed, the foiling and spot colours would be labeled on separate pages, but for this purpose, I used the resources I had and used a golden sparkly clipping mask to get the idea across.
Thanks for diving into this project with me!
